Old Bay Maryland Crab Cakes

 


INGREDIENTS

  • 2 slices white bread, crusts removed, finely crumbled 
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise 
  • 2 teaspoons OLD BAY® Classic Seafood Seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons McCormick® Parsley Flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon French's® Classic Yellow Mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten 
  • 1 pound lump crabmeat 
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • In a large bowl, mix bread, mayonnaise, OLD BAY, parsley, mustard, and egg until well blended. Gently stir in crabmeat. Shape into 4 patties. ( I doubled the recipe)


  • Heat oil in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Fry crab cakes for about 5 minutes per side or until cooked through and golden brown. Sprinkle with OLD BAY.
  • If you do not fry foods, these can be broiled, or air fried as well.

Dorothy and Edna May's Grandmother's Crab Cakes

 1 lb crab meat ( she used regular,Dorothy uses Lump)

2 t Old Bay or more to taste

2 t parsley flakes or chopped fresh parsley
2T Mayonnaise
1/2 t prepared mustard ( like French's)
2 slices of bread, broken into small pieces
1 egg
Beat the egg. Mix all ingredients, except crab meat. Fold gently into crab meat so as not to break up the crab meat.
Broil for 10 minutes or until browned. These can also be fried.
