Overnight Crockpot Oatmeal

 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups steel cut oats
  • 1 cup dried cranberries or raisins                         
  • 1 cup dried figs(optional)
  • 8 cups water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup

  • Directions

    In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients and set to low heat. Cover and let cook for 8 to 9 hours.
    Stir and remove to serving bowls. This method works best if started before you go to bed. This way your oatmeal will be finished by morning.

    ** Feel free to add anything to your oatmeal; nuts, chopped apples, dried fruit of any kind.**
    Enjoy, and there is enough left over to put in containers , ready to microwave and take to work each morning.
